This hotel is in close proximity to the train station - literally a 2 minute walk, if that, from leaving the station to getting to reception which saved so much hassle. Having messaged the property before we arrived to advise we were arriving earlier than the check-in time, we knew there was no guarantee the room would be ready but luckily for us, it was, and the lady checking us in (I think her name was Nancy), had actually been the person who had responded to my message and she remembered the time I'd said we should arrive. We got given a cookie each when checking in - I've never had this at any other hotels I've stayed at, which was such an unexpected but lovely touch. The room itself was exactly as we expected, clean and with all of the necessities you'd possibly need for a short stay (shower gel/shampoo/conditioner/bottled water/full size iron/ironing board). The bed was SO comfy, especially the pillows, and air con too. Our room overlooked the train station (you could literally see the trains pulling in) but with the windows shut you couldn't hear any noise whatsoever and the air con in the room meant that keeping the window closed wasn't an issue. We'd mentioned in our message that it was a trip to celebrate mine and my friends birthday, we were surprised to receive a knock on the door with a lovely gentleman dropping off a box of chocolates for our birthday - again, such a lovely little touch and one that leaves a lasting impression. We visited the sky lounge for a drink before we headed out for the night and this was such a nice, chilled atmosphere with a great list of drinks to choose from. Breakfast was included in our room rate and this was great too - it was a buffet style so you could easily adapt it to whatever you fancied, we were able to sit outside in the sunshine overlooking the water which was nice (especially on a hangover!!) & the food was lovely.

Check in was easy and room was ready by 2pm which was great. Reception area and ground floor restaurant are modern and very clean. Rooms good, furniture is possibly due a bit of an update if I was being a bit picky, but overall very good standard and clean. with beds being comfortable too. Bathrooms small, but also very clean. Has a nice restaurant at ground level called The Lock and great views from Sky Lounge bar on the top floor. Location is excellent on the canal and there are so many bars and restaurants close by and it takes no time to walk into the city centre. Staff were all really helpful and friendly and after we'd been out late on the Sunday night, the restaurant staff were still able to sort us some food and drinks even though we were right at last orders. Overall really happy and would 100% stay here again when we're next in Leeds, We travelled with our three boys who are 21, 19 and 15 and they loved it too.

We had an upgrade to de-luxe for only £10, which included a drinks voucher each. The room was on floor 11; it was quite big and had a nice view over the canal. Everything was spotless, the pillows on the bed were really soft and comfy. There were plenty of hangers in the wardrobe which had a very useful internal light. There was also a safe in there. Good mirrors over the dressing table area and plenty of power sockets, including USB sockets by the bed - very useful. Lovely bar on the top floor with amazing views over the city and an outdoor terrace. Breakfast was very good, with lots of choice including plenty of hot stuff too. The hotel is only a short walk from lots of shops, bars and restaurants.

It was lovely. The room was so clean and fresh. Loved getting a cookie on arrival. Great location. Staff were so friendly We did have the fire alarm going off at 4 am. So me standing in the street in my pj's and no shoes was a sight, lol. However, it gave us something to talk about and laugh about. We did get a complimentary bottle of water when we went back in which was most appreciated. I would recommend this hotel if staying in Leeds. Can't wait to come again. Thank you - one happy customer 😊

BIG CREDIT to the young lady on reception... Due to a booking mix up she took control and asked for our contact number so we could leave our cases and she would call us when she had managed to sort something out. within the hour she gave us a call and offered us a room upgrade.. free of charge! Unfortunately when we returned the room wasn't available but they quickly offered two drinks in the sky lounge whilst our room was being serviced... So again, BIG CREDIT to the reception staff
